I decided to make some small, yet major, changes in my life starting today. The first change was to reintroduce myself to my love for reading good books. I took my lunch break today and read a book entitled: 5: Where will you be in 5 years from today? by Dan Zadra. I have read this book in the past but today it had a new meaning for me. I was very inspired by the messaging of the book. Statements such as 'If you don't have a dream, how can you have a dream come true?' caused me to think about the dreams that I had buried deep inside me. I decided to come up with my 'BAG' list (Big Audacious Goals). I mean ... WHY NOT? If the people in this book can achieve their goals, against many odds, then why can't I? I have decided to stop wasting time and really move my life forward. I want to leave a positive legacy behind for my son and his children. I want my descendants to be proud of what I was able to accomplish!
So you may wonder, what is my BAG? Well, actually, I have two: 1) To lose 100 more pounds in the next year; and 2) To enter and progress in the International Speech Contest for Toastmasters International (contests start in the Spring). Oh ... and one more is that I want to finish a book I started writing a few years ago. I read in this book where a man spent two hours each morning writing pieces of his book and was able to complete his book in small chunks. Imagine that ... here I was trying to write an entire book in one weekend!
Stay tuned for more as I make progress towards my BAGS. What about you? What are you going to do today to make your tomorrow better? Get started now ... GO!
